Ben Goldberg, otherwise known as Token, is a YouTube artist that has been gaining popularity since 2012. He first released a few tracks on his channel that gained him some fans. He later entered the “No Sucka MCs” contest. This got him to go viral and and be put on Sway’s morning show, “Sway in the Morning.” In 2016, Token released his first mixtape, “Eraser Shavings,” which made the Itunes Hip-Hop chart, getting millions of views.

The views from “Eraser Shavings” got him better connections, such as the connection to Mark Wahlberg, that lead him to a meeting with none other than Eminem. Token then later declined the meeting with Eminem, feeling he was not ready for drastic change. He later went on to be dissed by Em. Although the subliminal diss was directed towards hurting his career,  Token, after the fact, wrote in his lyrics to “Somewhere in Between”, saying “Subliminal disses from legends are still compliments.”

After this period, Token later released a few singles. In December of 2018, he released “Between Somewhere” that has been loved by celebrities such as T-Pain, Mark Wahlberg, and Clinton Sparks. Token, as an artist, may not be as big as some other artists around his age of 20 years old, but has a better style compared to  artists such as Eminem than other new artists in the industry and can be expected to gain popularity in the next few years. Token is expected to sign a record deal soon to bring him further in the industry.
